A British cyclist died this week after collapsing while travelling on his bike in Granada.
The 57-year-old is reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest before falling onto the N-340 in Almuñecar.
The tragic accident occurred between the Mateano restaurant and the California hotel on Thursday (November 6).
A doctor who happened to be passing by stopped to perform CPR in a bid to save his life.
Police were the first emergency services to arrive at the scene, where they found a man lying on the side of the road.
They took over from the doctor and immediately began using a defibrillator that was in their vehicle until paramedics arrived.
Paramedics continued resuscitation efforts for more than 30 minutes without any response, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased has only been identified by the initials N.T.T., and is reported to have been passing through Almuñécar while on a cycling trip with friends.
He was staying at a hotel in Nerja on the nearby Costa del Sol.
