This is the moment a mass brawl involving fans and players marred a local football match over the weekend.

The shocking scenes unfolded during a Second Division fixture between Ecija Balompie and UD Loreto at the San Pablo Municipal Stadium in Ecija, Sevilla.

According to the match report and viral video footage, a verbal argument between two spectators in the stands quickly escalated into a physical fight, drawing in others from both sides.

Adding fuel to the fire, several players then climbed into the stands to throw their own punches.

The footage, shared widely on social media, shows the melee unfolding in front of children and families.

As the violence spreads, more individuals are seen joining the fray, while match officials struggle to maintain control.

The referee was forced to temporarily halt the game and recorded the incident in his official match report, confirming that two Loreto players were sent off.

However, he noted he was unable to identify all those involved, particularly among the spectators and non-playing staff.

Despite the unrest, the match resumed and ended in a 2–1 comeback victory for the home side.

In a statement released after the game, Ecija Balompie expressed regret for the scenes of violence.

They said: ‘We are saddened that incidents like these overshadow what should be a celebration of football.

‘We apologise to our fans and to everyone who felt disappointed or affected by what happened.’

UD Loreto, on the other hand, accused the hosts of creating a hostile environment, claiming their players and supporters were subjected to ‘insults, harassment, drinks thrown at them and even physical aggression.’

The Andalucian Football Federation has not yet announced any disciplinary action, but the incident is likely to prompt an internal investigation and potential sanctions.
