Andalucia is on track for a record year for foreing tourists, new statistics suggest.
The southernmost region welcomed 1,719,690 international tourists in August, marking a sharp 7.6% increase year-on-year.

According to fresh data from Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE), these visitors pumped €2.37 billion into the region’s economy – 4.1% more than in August 2024.
How much are they spending?
- The average daily spend per tourist was €176, up 2.7% year-on-year.
- But the overall spend per person per stay actually slipped by 3.2%, down to €1,381.
January to August in numbers
Between January and August, Andalucia received a staggering 10 million foreign tourists, up almost 8% on last year.
Their combined spending reached €13.7 billion, a 9.1% rise compared with 2024.
This puts Andalucia as Spain’s third most lucrative region for tourist spending in August, with a 14.5% share – behind the Balearics (23.9%) and Catalonia (19%).

The national picture
Across Spain, international visitors spent a record €92.4 billion in the first eight months of 2025 (+7.1%).
Some 66.8 million foreign tourists arrived during that period – nearly 4% more than last year.
The UK remained the biggest market, with almost 13.2 million British arrivals (+4.3%). France followed with 9.2 million, while Germany contributed 8.2 million.
Brits also topped the spending charts, accounting for 17.9% of all foreign tourist expenditure nationwide, well ahead of Germany (11.6%) and France (9.1%).
August snapshot
Spain as a whole welcomed 11.3 million international tourists in August (+2.9%), generating €16.39 billion (+6.7%).
- UK visitors: 19.2% of all spend (+3.8%).
- France: 13.4% of spend (+1.4%).
- Germany: 11.1% of spend (+10%).
The average spend per visitor was €1,457 (+3.6%), while the daily spend hit €198 (+4.9%).
