Kevin Parle: Brit fugitive with links to Spain’s Costa del Sol wanted in connection with two murders as £10,000 reward offered

A fresh appeal has been launched to find wanted British fugitive Kevin Parle.

The 45-year-old is being sought in connection with the murders in Liverpool of young mother Lucy Hargreaves in 2005 and Liam Kelly in 2004.

Crimestoppers said in a press release this month that it is offering a £10,000 reward for information that leads to the Liverpudlian’s arrest.

It said: ‘Since vanishing in 2005, Kevin Parle has evaded capture despite being the subject of international manhunts and appeals.

Wanted: British fugitive Kevin Parle was last traced to southern Spain

‘There have been reports of him in Spain, Australia and Dubai, but no confirmed sightings or any substantial leads.’

Parle is described as measuring around 6ft5 with ginger hair and a stocky build.

‘We believe that members of the public may have crucial information that could finally bring closure to the victims’ families,’ Crimestoppers said.

It added that anyone with information is guaranteed ‘100% anonymity.’

Gary Murray, Crimestoppers’ North West Regional Manager, said: ‘We know there are people who may know where Kevin Parle is. It’s time to do the right thing.

‘Our guarantee of anonymity means you will never be identified by anyone, and your information could help bring justice and solace to those who have suffered for the last 20 years.’

20 years without justice

Tragic: Lucy Hargreaves was shot dead at her home on August 3, 2005

Lucy Hargreaves, 22, was shot dead at her home in Liverpool before the house was set on fire on August, 3, 2005 – meaning her family have been waiting 20 years for justice.

Three men burst into her home and shot her as she slept on a sofa, before setting fire to the duvet she had been sleeping under.

It is believed her boyfriend Gary Campbell, who was upstairs, was the intended target – although he was able to flee from a window with their two-year-old daughter before he tried, in vain, to save Lucy’s life.

Two men accused of helping carry out the murder had charges dropped due to insufficient evidence.

Her family said in a statement this month: ‘The way we lost Lucy is not something families can ever truly come to terms with – it is still incredibly difficult and painful to think about.

‘Over the past 20 years, people will have talked with family and friends. A number of people were contacted by males using a phone that was stolen along with a vehicle used in Lucy’s murder.

‘We appeal directly to them to please come forward. Now is the time.’

In June 2004, 16-year-old Liam Kelly was shot dead over a rumored £200 debt.

Parle was arrested and questioned in connection with the killing but released on bail. Authorities never cleared him entirely, and no conviction followed.

Sky News were able to trace Parle to Torrevieja in southern Spain, but the trail has since gone cold.

He is believed to have been hiding among the expat community either in the Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca.
