A series of heat alerts have been issued for the Costa del Sol, Murica and Costa Blanca on Monday.
All three regions have been placed under a yellow warning for high temperatures by state weather agency Aemet.
On the Costa del Sol, the warning is in place between 1pm and 9pm, with the mercury expected to reach 38C.
Aemet said the heat will be made worse in the region due to the ‘terral’ – a hot wind that blows down to the coast from the north-west.
Meanwhile, at the same time on the Costa Blanca, coastal hotspots like Benidorm will see highs of 36C.
However, inland areas of Murcia will see temperatures soar to as high as 39C, such as Molina de Segura, Mula and Cieza.
