A series of weather alerts for rain and storms have been issued for Alicante and other parts of eastern Spain.
State weather agency Aemet has issued a yellow-level warning for inland Alicante and Valencia for Thursday.

From 7pm this evening, heavy downpours are expected in towns like Alcoy, Jijona, Ontinyent and Xativa.

Meteorologists predict up to 20mm of rainfall within an hour, which will be accompanied by strong storms.
The yellow alerts will be extended into Friday and last until at least 3pm that day.
The warnings for heavy rain and storms will also be expanded geographically on Friday, encompassing the northern coast of Alicante province and the southern coast of Valencia.
Calpe, Denia, Gandia and Cullera are among the municipalities on alert for rain on Friday.


Parts of Andalucia will also be on a yellow advisory for rain and storms from Friday.
These include much of Granada province and the southern half of Jaen.
