Hail storms are sweeping through Spain today after dozens of provinces were placed under weather alerts.

According to state weather agency Aemet, an Atlantic front is bringing heavy showers to the majority of the country.

More severe orange alerts have been activated in Zaragoza, Catalayud, Teruel, Guadalajara, Cuenca, Albacete, inland Alicante and elsewhere.

Those under an orange advisory are being warned of hail stones of up to 2cm in diameter, winds of up to 70km/hr and storms.
