A chringuito has been gutted by a devastating fire on the Costa del Sol.

Silencio Beach, in Torremolinos, was filmed engulfed by flames in the early hours of Friday.

Footage shared online showed the beach club burning bright orange during the black of night.

Smoke could be seen billowing into the sky as emergency services rushed to the scene.

Silencio Beach said in a statement that authorities believe the fire may have been started intentionally.

It said: ‘We want to give our appreciation to the team of firefighters, local police and national police of Torremolinos for the quick response to the events of this morning.

‘We are constantly in contact with the authorities to ascertain what happened, as they tell us it could have been intentional.

‘The Silencio family want to make special mention of all those people, friends, collaborators and brands who have showed support on social media.’

The business said it would come back ‘stronger than ever’.
