Spanish police have stormed a flight arriving from Newcastle on the request of the furious pilot.

According to TodoAlicante, at least five passengers were being extremely ‘disruptive’ throughout the three-hour flight.

The Boeing 737 was destined to Alicante-Elche Airport, which serves major holiday destinations on the Costa Blanca, including Benidorm.

But the group of five unruly travellers caused such problems that the pilot reported the incident to air traffic control.

Air traffic control ordered the plane to take a shorter route to the airport so the plane could land as quickly as possible.

It also requested police to be present on the runway.

Upon landing, several officers from the armed Guardia Civil force boarded the aircraft.

They identified the problem passengers, who sources said ‘cooperated with the police at all times’.
