Jasmine Harman has revealed there is one thing she cannot get her head around after moving to the Costa del Sol.
The A Place In The Sun star, 50, took to her Instagram page to make a comedic video about an issue that will be relatable to every homeowner in Spain.
In the video, the Channel 4 presenter is seen strolling around Estepona in a light denim jacket, despite it being in the middle of January.
However, once she enters her home, she is forced to put on her parka jacket and scarf before sitting on the sofa.
Jasmine captioned the clip: ‘No, really… why is it soooo cold indoors?
‘I literally have to put my coat on when I come inside. Or go outside in the sun to get warm. I can’t get used to it! Have you experienced this?’
Jasmine is not alone, as much of Spain’s housing stock was designed for summer survival, not winter comfort.
Thick walls, tiled floors and small windows help keep homes cool during long, hot months.
The downside is that once temperatures drop, those same features make it hard to retain warmth.
In short: Spanish homes are optimised for August, not January.
