A Malaga nightclub descended into chaos over the weekend when a woman allegedly launched a pepper spray attack and forced an emergency evacuation.
The incident occurred at around 3.50am on Saturday at Sala Leblon, where around 300 people were dancing the night away.
The crowds began to experience itchy throats and coughing fits, while some even had difficulty breathing.
The nightclub’s managers launched an evacuation after being hit with the same symptoms.
The emergency doors were immediately opened ‘like a fire drill’, one told Diario Sur.

Local police and firefighters were called to the scene as fears mounted over what the substance could have been.
Two ambulances were also dispatched to the venue, situated on Calle Juan Gris in the Cruz del Humilladero district.
Several people were vomiting while one young woman had to be treated for an anxiety attack.
During the evacuation, nightclub stuff identified two South American punters as being behind the incident.
One of them, a woman, was allegedly carrying pepper spray in her purse. She was on the upper level of the venue, which over looks the dancefloor, when she began arguing with her boyfriend.
The dispute, described as a ‘jealousy row’, led to her allegedly pulling out her pepper spray and using the whole can against her lover.
However, the toxic substance migrated down to the packed-out dancefloor below, affecting hundreds of people.
The club was shut down for half an hour after the evacuation but reopened, with around 50 people refusing to return.
The man and woman were reported to police and managers of the nightclub are planning to take legal action.
