The alleged attacker behind the shooting of four people in Malaga city on Monday has been arrested.

The Policia Nacional apprehended the 29-year-old at around 8.30pm on Friday following a four-day manhunt.

The Alicante native is being investigated for illegal firearm possession and four attempted murders.

The shooting sparked panic in the city’s southern district of Carretera de Cadiz on Monday afternoon.

Footage emerged of the suspect fleeing the scene of foot after opening fire at around 6pm.

Sources close to the injured told Diario Sur that the shooting stemmed from a feud between two men that dates back to their childhoods.

The shooter is said to have previously pulled a knife on the main target.

On Monday, witnesses said the men were arguing in the street, Calle Gaucin, before the suspect suddenly pulled out a gun and began shooting.

While his target was hit, so too were three individuals who got caught in the cross fire.

Among them was a 73-year-old who took a bullet to the chest. He was rushed to hospital and is now said to be ‘out of danger’.
