A tourist was left needing stitches after allegedly being dragged along the ground by a taxi in Fuengirola.
The 60-year-old driver has been arrested following the alleged road rage incident in the Costa del Sol town on Monday (November 17).
According to local reports, a heated argument unfolded when the tourist realised the fare was double the estimate given by the driver at the start of the journey.
Then, as he went to get his suitcase from the boot of the car, the taxi is said to have tried to pull away.
The tourist put himself in front of the car in a bid to make him stop.
He then grabbed one of the door handles to try and prevent the taxi from leaving.
It was at this moment, it is alleged, that the taxi accelerated, dragging the tourist on the ground and causing a serious head injury.
The victim was rushed to the Costa del Sol hospital, where he required stitches to close the gash in his head.
The driver was hauled to the Malaga Provincial Police headquarters and is facing assault charges.
