A hooded burglar is targeting businesses in an expat haven on the Costa del Sol, local residents have warned.
CCTV footage shared with this paper shows the suspect breaking into the Rose and Thistle in La Duquesa at just before 5am on Friday.
It’s just the latest attack on the business, which has been burglarised multiple times this year, despite the alleged gang behind the raids being arrested.
The pub’s owner, Simon Dearing, told the Spanish Eye today: ‘We have a fair bit to sort out, yet again.
‘We were broken into at 5am yesterday, we have good video footage but facially he was well covered, unfortunately.
‘He mainly caused damage, so another new window needed, and stole around €20 in small change.’
Simon branded the police response as ‘pretty pathetic’.
‘Guardia Civil visited and said to go do a denuncia when we get home,’ he said, ‘Same old, same old.’
Simon added that other expat businesses had been targeted, including the popular Kinsale bar, although the suspect was unable to force entry.

The Rose and Thistle told its customers on Friday: ‘We’re behind schedule this morning for breakfast due to another break in so bear with us today.
‘If anyone is offered a touchscreen tablet, it could be ours. All they took was change, the tablet and left us with a massive inconvenience again.’
