This is the moment a fire in a tourist flat sparked serious concern in Torremolinos on Thursday.
The blaze took hold on the 15th floor of Tower 1 in the Los Manantiales complex.
According to Luis Rojas, president of the community that represents around 300 property owners, the blaze began in the kitchen area of a tourist flat that was unoccupied at the time, as the guest had gone out.
Rojas said early indications suggest the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault or an appliance left running, although the exact cause will only be confirmed once the investigation is complete.
Local Police, National Police and fire crews from the provincial brigade attended the scene, using an aerial ladder to tackle the flames.

The incident was brought under control quickly, limiting the damage largely to the affected flat.
Fire officials said that by the time crews arrived, neighbouring residents and those on higher floors had already been evacuated.
No one was trapped, and firefighters moved to extinguish the blaze and ventilate the property, which suffered extensive damage from both flames and smoke.
