A wild fire has broken out in Malaga for the second night in a row.

Emergency crews were once again deployed late on Tuesday night as flames took hold in the Cerro de la Tortuga area, within Malaga’s Bailen-Miraflores district.

Units from Infoca and local police raced to the scene, with two forest firefighting teams, a forest agent, and two fire engines dispatched, according to updates shared via official social media channels.

Thankfully, authorities report the situation is now under control and the fire is evolving favourably, despite initial fears.

This marks the second wildfire in the city in under 24 hours. On Monday night, a separate blaze erupted in Monte Coronado, near the Palma-Palmilla neighbourhood.

Over 100 emergency calls flooded the Junta’s emergency hotline within minutes, alerting responders to the growing inferno.

That fire was brought under control roughly two hours after the first flames were reported.

Authorities continue to monitor both sites amid concerns over rising nighttime temperatures and dry conditions.
