The body of swimmer was found floating in a cove in Torrevieja on Wednesday afternoon, it has emerged.
The unidentified man was wearing a swimsuit and goggles when he was discovered at around 6.40pm.
The discovery was made around 80 metres from Cala Redonda, according to Guardia Civil sources quoted by news agency Efe.

The body had no obvious signs of violence, with the evidence so far pointing to an accidental death.
Footage shared online shows the body covered by white sheets after being pulled onto some rocks by emergency services.
The Guardia Civil is leading the investigation to determine the cause of death.
