Two people have died in separate incidents within half an hour on Malaga’s roads.
Emergency services confirmed both fatalities occurred shortly after midnight – one on the A-7 motorway in Mijas and the other in Malaga city.
The first incident happened at 00:13am, when a man was struck by a vehicle on the A-7 near Mijas, in the direction of Fuengirola.
Despite the rapid response from emergency crews, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Just half an hour later, at 00:41am, witnesses alerted authorities to a second tragedy.
A 33-year-old motorcyclist had come off his bike on Avenida Pintor Joaquin Sorolla in the Pedregalejo area of Malaga city.
Again, there was nothing medics could do to save him.
Both incidents were attended by Spain’s emergency services, with the Centro de Emergencias Sanitarias 061 confirming the deaths at the scene.
Officers from the Guardia Civil and local police were also deployed.
The circumstances surrounding both incidents remain under investigation.
