A 33-year-old man has died in a horror crash off the A-7 in Estepona.

Emergency services were called just before 1am on Saturday after the car he was driving slammed into a roundabout at the entrance to the town, according to Emergencias 112 Andalucia.

A witness raised the alarm, triggering a major response involving firefighters, paramedics, the Guardia Civil and road maintenance crews.

But despite their rapid arrival, there was nothing they could do and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
