The western Costa del Sol is one of Europe’s padel capitals, with dozens of clubs stretching from Estepona to Mijas – but not all are created equal.
Some offer serious bang for your buck. Others deliver elite, almost luxury-level facilities. And a select few manage to strike the balance between both.
After extensive play across the coast, the Spanish Eye team have selected the standouts, with each leading in a different category (best value, best facilities and best overall).
Best value: CAP Racket Club and Villa Padierna Racket Club
If you’re looking for affordability without sacrificing quality, two clubs stand out on the western Costa del Sol.
CAP Racket Club in Atalaya remains one of the best-value options around. Prices start from just over €8 per person for 90 minutes – significantly cheaper than most clubs on the coast – and that even includes free water, a small but telling detail that reflects the club’s player-first approach.
The courts are well maintained, and the layout centres around a bar and viewing area, giving it a social, community feel.
It’s also fully integrated with Playtomic, making it easy to book matches or join the club’s regular mix-ins.

Food is also available on-site, rounding off a venue that consistently overdelivers for its price point.
Villa Padierna Racket Club, further up the coast towards Estepona, also offers glass courts from little over €8 per person for 90 minutes – and walled courts for less.
Set in a leafy green space right next to the beach, it’s one of the most pleasant places to play on the coast.
The club has more than 15 courts, a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and a strong schedule of organised mix-ins throughout the week during high season.
Like CAP, it’s also available on Playtomic, making it accessible for players looking to jump into games.
There’s also an on-site restaurant serving decent food, making it easy to turn a quick match into a longer, more relaxed visit.

The only downside comes in peak season, when parking on the surrounding streets can become a real headache.
Still, for a mix of setting, accessibility and overall experience, Villa Padierna comfortably earns its place among the best-value clubs on the Costa del Sol.
Best facilities: Nueva Alcantara Club (NAC)
When it comes to pure quality, Nueva Alcantara Club – known locally as NAC – is in a league of its own.
The courts are immaculate, arguably the best-maintained on the Costa del Sol, and the entire venue has a polished, high-end feel that sets it apart.
There’s a state-of-the-art gym on site, along with a solid restaurant and a stylish bar overlooking the courts, making it an ideal place to spend an entire afternoon rather than just a match.

However, that exclusivity comes with trade-offs.
Unlike most clubs, NAC is not available on Playtomic, meaning you’ll need to organise matches yourself and book courts directly. Prices are also notably higher than elsewhere on the coast.
For serious players who prioritise top-tier facilities, though, NAC remains unmatched.
Best overall: Los Naranjos Padel Club
If you had to pick just one club that delivers across the board, Los Naranjos Padel Club comes out on top.
With more than 15 courts – most in consistently good condition – it offers scale, availability and reliability that few others can match.
Crucially, it also features four covered courts, allowing for year-round play even during rain or the peak of summer heat.

The price of these covered courts jumps to €17.99 per person, and players are often required to book them first via Playtomic – a policy that doesn’t always go down well with regulars.
Still, the overall package is hard to argue with.
The club is fully integrated with Playtomic, making it easy to find games, and it boasts a good restaurant with friendly staff, creating a welcoming post-match atmosphere.
There’s also a well-stocked padel shop on site, selling clothing and footwear – another practical advantage.
A gym with membership options is also available above the padel club.
