A notorious thug who terrorised a Costa del Sol town has been arrested and deported from Spain following a joint effort by police and the courts.
The 45-year-old, originally from Romania, had built up a long criminal record in Torre del Mar, where he had been living since 2021.
In recent months, his behaviour had sparked growing alarm after he allegedly vandalised numerous cars parked on public streets.
Residents also reported aggressive and obscene behaviour, with complaints and warnings spreading across social media.
Officers from the Policia Nacional’s Foreigners and Borders Unit began the process to have him ejected from Spain last October, gathering the legal approvals needed to carry out the deportation.

Because the man had multiple criminal cases open in different courts, police first had to secure authorisation from judges handling proceedings not only in Velez-Malaga, but also Malaga city and Barcelona.
Authorities said the suspect had an extensive rap sheet, including robbery with violence or intimidation, criminal damage and burglary, as well as several previous arrests by different police forces.
The operation was completed in February, it has now emerged, when officers successfully deported the man back to Romania, bringing an end to the wave of incidents that had been troubling residents in Torre del Mar.
