Taxi fares for journeys between municipalities in Andalucia will remain unchanged after being frozen by the Junta for 2026.
It means the starting fare (bajada de bandera) remains at €3.66, maintaining current prices for interurban taxi services across the region.
Unlike urban taxi fares, which are regulated by local town halls, interurban taxi tariffs (e.g. travelling from Marbella to Estepona) fall under the authority of the regional government.
According to a resolution published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucia (BOJA), the price per kilometre travelled has been set at €0.71.
It means a 30km journey between to towns in Andalucia would cost at least €21.30.
The minimum fare for any journey will be €3.83, while the hourly waiting rate is fixed at €17.57.
These rates apply from Monday to Friday on working days between 6am and 10pm.
Higher fares at night and on weekends
The regulation also establishes higher fares for journeys carried out during nights, weekends and public holidays.
For services provided on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays – whether national, regional or local – as well as between 10pm and 6amm on weekdays, the per-kilometre rate rises to €0.82.
During these periods, the minimum fare increases to €4.51, while the waiting time rate rises to €20.71 per hour.
Additionally, passengers will be charged €5.18 for every 15-minute fraction of waiting time.
Transparency requirements and start date
The resolution also requires taxi drivers to display the official fare chart inside the vehicle in a clearly visible place so passengers can easily check the prices.
The new tariff framework officially came into force on Friday, March 13, following its publication in the BOJA.
When the starting fare applies
The regional administration clarified that the starting fare will only apply to journeys where the distance between the origin and destination is less than 12km.
This condition defines the scope of the initial fare for short-distance interurban taxi journeys between municipalities in Andalucia.
