The route had been suspended since January 18 after a major railway accident near Adamuz in Cordoba province that killed 46 people and injured more than 120.

In a message posted on social media, the railway operator announced the return of the service.

‘Since March 9, the direct high-speed service between Barcelona and Sevilla is once again operating in both directions,’ Renfe said.

With the restoration of the route, passengers can again travel directly between Barcelona Sants and Sevilla Santa Justa stations without needing to change trains.
