Three earthquakes of varying magnitude have been recorded in Malaga province – including on the Costa del Sol.
According to the National Geographic Institute (IGN), the strongest quake measured 3.0 and struck Cañete la Real at 8.22am on Friday, at a depth of zero kilometres.
Two smaller tremors were also registered in the same area earlier that morning – at 7.53am and 7.59am – with magnitudes of 1.9 and 1.7 respectively.
Meanwhile, in Benalmadena, a separate earthquake measuring 2.8 was recorded at 9.19am at a depth of 63 kilometres.
The latest activity comes amid heightened seismic movement across Andalucia.
February has seen hundreds of minor tremor logged between Cadiz and Malaga alone, underlining just how restless the region’s underground fault lines have been.
