The highly-anticipated Lidl in Marbella’s San Pedro de Alcantara will open its doors on Friday.
The budget supermarket, which includes underground parking, will begin serving its first customers from 9am.
The branch is situated next to the La Colonia commercial centre, just before the Guadalmina roundabout.
Original plans for the German chain’s store included a floor area of 1,500 square metres.
The plans go back several years, with the multinational company wanting to open by 2024, however bureaucracy and planning delays pushed the start of construction back.
Lidl previously said the new supermarket will create more jobs after expanding its workforce in Andalucia by more than 20%.
Lidl has already surpassed 700 stores in Spain, with the number officially reaching the milestone in late 2024.
The company invested over €330 million in 2024, opening around 30 new stores and further expanding its logistics network.
