Flights from the UK, Morocco and elsewhere have been diverted from Malaga Airport on Saturday due to fierce winds brought on by Storm Marta.
According to flight data, one Wizz Air service from Cluj-Napoca was forced to land at Alicante instead – around a six-hour drive away.
Two Ryanair flights were also diverted to the Costa Blanca airport; one from Marrakesh and another from Tetuan.
A fourth flight – from Tanger – was also unable to land in Malaga and had to sent even further away to Valencia.
Finally, a British Airways flight from London was forced to land in Almeria instead.
By 7pm, at least eight diversions had been recorded on Flightradar24.
There have also been widespread delays of more than two hours due to crosswinds making landing difficult.
It comes after video footage from Thursday showed how a passenger plane was forced to abandon its landing at Malaga.
The hair-raising clip showed the jet swaying and tilting as it made its descent, before pulling up at the last minute.
The Costa del Sol and Guadalhorce Valley was placed on an orange alert for heavy rain and winds by state weather agency Aemet on Saturday.
There have been no further reported disruptions, but travellers are urged to check the status of their journeys.
