A British expat has died suddenly in Almeria while waiting for her bus home outside a shopping centre.
The unnamed 82-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest while waiting for an intercity bus in Mojacar, reports local newspaper Actualidad Almanzora.
The octogenarian is reported to have been a resident of Vera, an area popular with the expat community.
The incident occurred at around 11.50am at a bus stop in front of the Parque Comercial shopping centre.
The journey would have taken her about 20 minutes.
Several passengers and passersby phoned the 112 emergency number after noticing she was unwell.
A patrol from the Mojacar Local Police and paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Medics performed CPR maneuvers but were unable to revive her.
