Storm Francis continues to affect southern Spain and is now being felt across the eastern Costa del Sol, Granada and Almeria.
Sate weather agency Aemet has issued a yellow warning for all three coastlines until at least midnight on Monday.
Forecasters warn that the system could bring heavy, stormy rainfall, potentially accompanied by small hail.
Rainfall totals could build up quickly over short periods of time, especially in coastal areas, with some parts of the Axarquia at risk of seeing more than 15 litres per square metre in just one hour.
This raises the possibility of localised flooding on urban streets and secondary roads.
The Axarquía also remains under a yellow alert for coastal conditions on Three Kings Day itself (January 6).
Aemet is forecasting north-westerly winds of 50-60 km/h (force 7), along with rough seas.
Temperatures are expected to drop further, with daytime highs struggling to rise above 9C to 11C in different parts of the region.

Local councils across the Axarquia have responded to the warning by urging residents to take extra care and to avoid unnecessary travel.
The town hall in Rincón de la Victoria, which is still dealing with the aftermath of the intense hailstorm on Christmas Eve, has asked residents to be especially vigilant.
Meanwhile, Velez-Malaga town hall has also issued public warnings after Aemet activated the yellow alert, highlighting the risk of storms and possible hail across the municipality.
Residents and visitors are being advised to monitor weather updates closely as conditions remain unstable across the eastern Costa del Sol.
