Hunt for driver after car found submerged in Estepona reservoir

Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle found dumped in a water reservoir in Estepona.

The discovery as made at around 12.45pm on Saturday when residents spotted the vehicle on Camino El Chorro, behind the Cancelada school area.

Emergency services immediately mobilised firefighters the Malaga consortium, along with officers from the the local and national forces.

A fire crew from Estepona attended the scene and partially drained the reservoir to inspect the bottom, confirming that no one was trapped or injured.

Police have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to identify and locate the vehicle’s owner and to clarify the circumstances that led to the car ending up in the reservoir.
