A British man has been found shot to death inside a home on the Costa Blanca.
The unnamed 29-year-old was discovered in a home in the Campoamor area of Orihuela Costa on December 21 – although details of the discovery only emerged tonight.
The killing took place 10 days after another British man was shot multiple times inside his car in an apartment block car park, also in Orihuela Costa.
That victim survived despite being hit by three of the 10 bullets, most of which hit the windscreen of his car.
The 32-year-old survivor is accused of being the leader of an armed British gang dedicated to extorting cannabis clubs in the Vega Baja area.
The Guardia Civil is now investigating whether the two cases are linked.

December 21 killing
On December 21, the Policia Local were called to a home in Lomas del Garbinet after several people reported that ‘something serious’ had happened.
On entering the house, officers found the bloodstained body of a young man and immediately notified the Guardia Civil, which called in forensics.
A judicial commission was also called to inspect the scene before authorising the removal of the body and its transfer to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Alicante.
The post-mortem confirmed that the victim had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, although the exact number of shots has not been disclosed.
Yet another suspected settling of scores
A drug-related dispute is one of the main lines of inquiry, as was the case with the earlier shooting of the other British man on December 11 in an underground garage in Orihuela Costa.
The Guardia Civil is working to establish whether both incidents were carried out by the same individuals.
The investigation also extends to other British and Irish criminals based in the Vega Baja area who have been the subject of previous Guardia Civil probes.
Days earlier, on December 17, Northern Irish national Jonathan Alan S. was released on bail of €100,000, reports local newspaper Informacion.
He is accused of shooting dead his compatriot John George Hardy in Rojales last year.
One day before his release, Jonathan’s wife was arrested along with two men – one British and one Irish – after they were found in a car carrying two loaded handguns. Another man managed to flee.
The Guardia Civil is also investigating whether there is any link between the murder discovered at the Campoamor property and those individuals who were found armed.
There is no reported evidence from the authorities that the cases are linked at this stage.
