This is the moment a water spout made landfall in Cadiz before destroying the rood of a building.
Footage shared by a resident on X showed the moment a ‘wall’ of swirling air reached Rota, on the Costa de la Luz.
It formed a mini tornado upon reaching land, causing the roof of the local Fishermen’s Guild to collapse, according to the Guardia Civil and Andalucia’s 112 emergency services.
The incident occurred at around 5.15pm on Monday, when the Guardia Civil detected the waterspout via the Integrated External Surveillance System (SIVE), which monitors Spain’s maritime borders.
Authorities were alerted in advance, allowing emergency services to respond quickly.
The strong winds lifted and tore away roof panels at the Fishermen’s Guild building. Emergency services confirmed that no injuries were reported, although damage was recorded at the site.

No further incidents linked to the weather phenomenon were detected.
Local authorities continue to monitor conditions along the Cadiz coastline as unstable weather affects parts of southern Spain.
It comes after another tornado tore through parts of the neighbouring Costa del Sol overnight.
