Batten down the hatches: Warnings for 70km/hr winds in Granada and Almeria on Thursday

The yellow-level warnings have been emitted by state weather agency Aemet.

A series of weather alerts for strong winds have been issued across parts of Granada and Almeria on Thursday.

The yellow-level warnings have been emitted by state weather agency Aemet.

They warn of gales of up to 70km/hr between midday and at least 11.59pm.

The areas under the alert are Granada’s Costa Tropical, including Motril, and Almeria’s western coast, including Almeria city and El Ejido.

Guadix and Baza in Granada are also under the same alert for strong winds.

Yellow alerts for rough seas off the Granada and Almeria coast are also in effect between 10am and 11.59pm.

Aemet is warning of strong conditions and waves of up to three metres.
