A head-on collision between a car and a non-emergency ambulance has left 10 people injured and a dog dead on Malaga’s A-367 road.
The crash occurred shortly after 12.30pm near Cuevas del Becerro on Monday, in the direction of Cañete la Real.
Andalucia’s 112 emergency service received multiple calls reporting that an ambulance carrying seven patients and two drivers had collided with a car in which a man was travelling with his dog.
Paramedics, Guardia Civil officers and firefighters from Malaga’s Provincial Fire Consortium (CPB) were deployed to the scene.
Firefighters had to free people trapped in both vehicles, as well as the dog, which died from the impact.

Emergency teams assisted with transferring the injured to medical facilities, though the severity of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.
It comes two days after another near-fatal accident on the AP-7 road near Mijas on Saturday.
One person was seriously injured after a drink driver traveled down the wrong side of the toll road, sparking a major collision.
