A driver has died after their car collided with a stationary lorry on the AP-7 motorway in Mijas (Málaga) on Friday evening.
According to Andalucia’s emergency coordination service (112), the crash occurred at around 6.10pm at kilometre 210 of the motorway.
Witnesses told operators that a car had crashed into a lorry parked on the hard shoulder, and that the vehicle had caught fire on impact.
Firefighters from Mijas, officers from the Guardia Civil’s traffic division, and medical teams from the Junta de Andalucía were dispatched to the scene.
Despite their efforts, emergency services could only confirm the death of the driver, who became trapped inside the burning vehicle.
No further details about the victim’s identity have yet been released.
