A desperate appeal has been launched to find a 14-year-old boy who failed to turn up to school on the Costa del Sol on Monday.
Marc Ian Campos Perlaza never arrived at his institute in Rincon de la Victoria, and with no mobile phone, relatives have no way of contacting him.
Marc Ian, who lives with his parents and grandmother, was last seen leaving the family home carrying a pillow, a packed lunch, juices, and a backpack full of clothes.
His grandmother noticed his behaviour was unusual and asked where he was going ‘with so many things’, but received no clear answer. Concerned, she alerted his parents, who were at work.

When his mother checked with the school, she was told her son had not attended classes.
‘A bright and respectful boy’
His father, Marco Antonio Campos, described his son as a ‘normal teenager, with no psychological problems, very bright and mature, and very respectful.’
Although he has only a small circle of friends, Marc Ian is close to them. Worryingly, the boy reportedly said ‘hasta nunca’ (‘see you never’) to two of them, hinting they might not see him again in La Cala del Moral.
The family fears his disappearance could be linked to academic frustrations. Marc Ian was due to repeat the year after failing two subjects, something that reportedly left him feeling deeply frustrated.
‘He said he would rather change schools than classmates,’ his father explained.
Police investigation and false alarms
The Guardia Civil has confirmed it is prioritising the case due to the boy’s age. The family has already filed a missing person’s report, while friends, neighbours, and missing persons’ associations are spreading appeals across social media.
So far, there have been several reported sightings, including in Chilches and at Málaga’s technology park (PTA), but these have turned out to be false alarms involving other young people.
Anyone with information that could help find Marc Ian is urged to contact the Guardia Civil.
