After a few days of cooler relief, Sevilla is set to heat up again this weekend, with the mercury climbing back towards the high 30s.

On Friday, conditions across the province began to stabilise under mostly clear skies.

According to Spain’s meteorological agency Aemet, Ecija once again hit 38C, while Sevilla city itself peaked at 37C.

Other towns including Lebrija and Moron de la Frontera saw similar highs, while northern areas such as Guadalcanal, Constantina and Almadén de la Plata were slightly cooler, between 32C and 35C.

Weekend forecast

  • Saturday September 13: A minor dip of one or two degrees, with maximums around 35-36C. Winds will be light, tending north in the afternoon. Ecija will hold at 37C. Minimums across the province will remain stable at 18–20C.
  • Sunday September 14: Heat builds again, with Ecija, Lantejuela and Marchena forecast to reach 38C. Sevilla city is expected to top out at 37C, making it one of the hottest days since August.

Relative humidity in Sevilla will range between 20% and 70%, keeping nights warm but not oppressive.

Outlook for late summer

As summer edges towards its close, Aemet’s long-range forecast points to warmer and drier-than-usual conditions across most of Spain from mid-September.

Between now and September 14, rainfall is expected to remain scarce in the southwest, though Galicia, the northern coast, Catalonia and the Balearics may see wetter conditions.
