A forest fire which broke out in the province of Sevilla has been stabilised after hours of work by firefighters.
The blaze had taken hold in Sanlucar La Mayor, in the area of Las Doblas, reported firefighting service INFOCA.
It was first being tackled by two forest fire ground crews and a helicopter capable of carrying water.
In an update at 8.20pm, INFOCA said two aircraft and multiple ground crews had been roped into the efforts.
At around 9.30pm, it was declared stabilised, although work on extinguishing the flames were expected to carry on into Wednesday morning.
The affected area is just a 30-minute drive westwards from Sevilla capital.
It comes after dozens of residents in the Serranía de Ronda (Malaga province) raised the alarm on Tuesday after thick smoke and a strong smell of burning spread across several towns.
Villagers in Jimera de Libar, Benaojan, Montejaque and Cortes de la Frontera feared a forest fire was breaking out nearby, after seeing dark skies and hearing Infoca helicopters in the area.
Emergency services even received multiple calls from concerned locals.
However, no fire had been detected in Málaga province. The smoke is being carried by winds from the large wildfires currently burning in Portugal, Extremadura and northern Spain.
The situation prompted local councils to issue public statements to calm residents.

Montecorto Town Hall posted on Instagram: ‘The smoke in our locality comes from the active fires in Portugal, Huelva and Extremadura.
‘This may cause respiratory discomfort, especially in vulnerable people, so we recommend keeping windows closed and avoiding prolonged outdoor activity.’
Benaojan Council also stressed there was no local fire, while Cortes de la Frontera confirmed the Infoca helicopter presence was preventative.
