Almost the entire region of Andalucia has been placed under alert for extreme temperatures on Sunday.
According to state weather agency Aemet, temperatures are expected to reach 44C in the worst affected areas.
These include Sevilla province and parts of Cordoba, both of which have been issued with a red alert – meaning there is an extreme risk to personal safety.

Elsewhere, Jaen, Huelva, most of Granada and Cadiz and inland Malaga (Ronda) are under an orange alert, with highs of 42C expected.
The Atlantic coast of Cadiz and the Costa del Sol have not escaped alerts either.
Both coastlines are under a yellow warning for extreme heat, with maximums of 38C predicted.
