The bodies of an American pilot and his 13-year-old son have been found following a plane crash in Mallorca.
The tragic discovery was made on Sunday afternoon, after the accident occurred near the port of Soller at around 8pm on Saturday.
The two-seater, acrobatic aircraft was being flown by an American pilot with military experience, reports local newspaper Ultima Hora.
The father reportedly lived in Germany and was working as a commercial pilot. The family are thought to have a summer home on the Spanish holiday island.
Wreckage of the plane, a Team Rocket F-4 Raider, had earlier been located by emergency services.
The plane crashed into the sea off the lighthouse of Port de Soller.
Specialists from the Guardia Civil’s Underwater Activities Group (GEAS), the Maritime Service and Air Service were involved the search.
The aircraft had taken off from the Binissalem airfield at around 6pm, police said.
According to the 112 Emergency Service in the Balearic Islands, several boats that witnessed the crash saw floating debris from the aircraft. According to the 112 emergency service, the small plane had sunk.
