The body of a British tourist has been found floating in a hotel swimming pool in Spain.
The horror discovery was made at a resort in S’Illot, Mallorca, just after 8.30am on Tuesday.
Paramedics from SAMU were called to the scene after reports of a man found face down in the water.
SAMU said in a statement: ‘A British man aged 52 has been found floating face down in the swimming pool of a hotel in S’Illot.
‘He was pulled out of the water and basic resuscitation manoeuvres were performed until the first ambulances arrived, when it was confirmed he had gone into cardiac arrest.
‘Despite attempts to resuscitate him, he died. The alarm was raised at 8.37am this morning.’
Police have launched an investigation to determine what happened in the run up to the man’s death.
