Two young children had to be rescued at sea on Sunday after drifting almost a kilometre from the shoreline in Alicante.
The youngsters, aged four and six, were swept away by the wind while enjoying a day at the beach with their family in Denia.
A photo of the rescue shared by the Denia local police shows the pair sat on a boogie board.

‘Two minors swept away by the wind were rescued offshore by the Local Police without life jackets or supervision.
‘Thanks to the swift intervention a tragedy was avoided… always keep an eye on the little ones in the water!’
