Missing: David, 63, from Oldham vanished from Benidorm in the early hours of Wednesday

A British tourist who disappeared while on holiday in Benidorm has been located following a days-long search.

In the original online appeal, Kelsey Leigh said her uncle David, 63, from Oldham, had not been seen or heard from since Wednesday.

She said her family were ‘worried sick’ and that both the UK and Spanish police were helping look for him.

David disappeared at around 5am when he reportedly went to a chicken shop and never returned.

Dozens of British expats and tourists in Benidorm helped the search efforts over the past few days.

In an update on Sunday, Kelsey said: ‘A lovely woman has picked him up and he is on his way back to Benidorm to meet his wife, thank you everyone!’

It is not clear where David has been since disappearing, but he is said to have been trying to make his way to the airport.

A person who assisted with the search said ‘it’s a huge relief for the family.’
