A fresh fire broke out in Mijas on Sunday morning, just hours after a nearby inferno was brought under control.
The blaze took hold in the Playa Marina urbanisation, right next to blocks of apartments.
Multiple fire trucks and the Guardia Civil were filmed arriving at the scene to help put out the flames, which was extinguished by the afternoon.
It came just hours after a forest fire broke out in Mijas Golf shortly after midnight the previous night – with fire crews working until past 7am to bring that blaze under control.
Meanwhile, there have been at least five other fires in Malaga province alone over the weekend.
Locals online are shocked by the number of fires, particularly in Mijas, in such a short space of time.
‘Another one?!’, one wrote on X, ‘Firefighters are not getting any rest this weekend’, while another said: ‘This is not normal.’
