A huge fire erupted at an iconic Marbella beach bar in the early hours of Saturday morning, it has emerged.

Images shared online show Andy’s Beach bar in Cabopino completely engulfed by flames.

A worker told the Spanish Eye today that the blaze started in the kitchen, but that she could not provide any more details.

Video footage uploaded to the @marbellasequeja Instagram page showed firefighters battling the flames overnight.

Witnesses on social media claimed it took firefighters ‘more than three hours of intense work’ to bring the inferno under control.

The worker said that the chiringuito would open today but would only be serving drinks.

The cause of the fire remains unknown as the investigation continues.

Andy’s Beach is one of the most emblematic chiringuitos in Marbella.

It is also among the longest-standing beach restaurants on the Costa del Sol, having served customers for decades.
