A British father-of-two has been left seriously injured after a seemingly innocent prank went horribly wrong.

Martin Bullen was holidaying in Benidorm this month when he was pushed into the pool by mates.

However, not realising, he was by the shallow end, he attempted to dive into the water and ended up hitting the bottom of the pool head first.

In a GoFundMe page, he explained how he had no travel insurance and had been forced to spend a fortune on medical bills.

He explained: ‘I recently went to a pool party in Benidorm and was pushed into the pool and without knowing the pool was only shallow I dived in with my head first and split it open, requiring 16 stitches and also fracturing my neck in three different places, and my spine also been fractured.

‘I do not have travel insurance and have missed my flight to get home.

‘I have already spent enormous amount of money in the hospital and I would appreciate if anyone could help me even with the smallest donation to recover my cost and help me get home…

‘And for when I am home, I do live with my two children so I am going to need support whilst I recover.’

Martin has since turned off donations on the GoFundMe page after raising almost £1,000.
