Schools in 22 municipalities across Andalucia will remain closed on Friday (February 13) as Storm Oriana brings heavy rain and strong winds to the region.
The closures affect towns in Cadiz, Málaga and Sevilla provinces, along with specific schools in Granada and Jaen, due to what regional authorities describe as ‘risks in the area, evacuations, road access problems or damage to facilities.’
The figure marks an increase from Thursday, when 18 schools suspended in-person classes.
According to the Junta, online teaching will be activated or maintained in affected centres in line with each school’s education plan.
