Two teens have been killed after a fire broke out in a home in Alhaurin el Grande on Christmas morning.
The victims are a 15-year-old girl and a teenage boy believed to be 16. Neighbours say the pair were in a relationship.
The fire occurred at around 8am at a property on Calle San Rafael, close to the historic centre of the town.
According to 112 Andalucia, several emergency calls were received shortly after 8.00am reporting flames coming from a house and warning that someone could be trapped inside.
When emergency services arrived, they confirmed that two people had died inside the property.
The Malaga Provincial Council has confirmed that both victims were minors.
Witnesses told local media that the girl lived in the house with her mother and a younger sister, while her boyfriend – also from Alhaurín el Grande – had reportedly stayed over.

At the time of the fire, the girl’s mother was said to be in Malaga with her younger daughter.
Despite the rapid response, the intensity of the blaze caused severe damage to both floors of the house, which reportedly contained a large amount of flammable material.
The roof of the property collapsed during the incident.
The fire has now been extinguished, but emergency teams remain at the scene. The cause of the blaze is not yet known and is under investigation.
