A man has died after his car veered off the road and burst into flames on the A-45 motorway in Antequera on Friday evening.

The accident happened at around 8.30pm at kilometre 115 of the route. According to witnesses who called the 112 emergency service, the vehicle left the carriageway, struck a tree and immediately caught fire, trapping the driver inside.
Emergency crews from the Traffic Guardia Civil, Provincial Fire Brigade, Local Police and medical services rushed to the scene but were unable to save the man’s life.
Firefighters from the Antequera CPB unit also had to extinguish a small vegetation fire on the roadside, sparked by the blaze from the vehicle.
The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
