A headless body that washed up on a Costa del Sol beach remains unidentified some six months later.
The mystery corpse was discovered on the shores of Fuengirola on March 5 while wearing a diving suit.
The body had undergone saponification, which is a form of natural mummification that occurs when a corpse remains submerged in water for an extended period.
It causes the tissue to harden into a wax-like substance.

Regional minister Pedro Fernández told reporters at the time: ‘It is a corpse in a very advanced state of decomposition and appears decapitated… and some lower limbs also appear severed.
‘This shows, even more so, that at first glance, and according to specialists, we are talking about a process of decomposition that has already taken place over time.’
The body will now be buried in a charity-funded grave, with no relatives to claim him and no answers to the mystery of who he was.
Police launched an extensive inquiry after the grim discovery, but despite forensic testing and international alerts, his identity remains unknown.
