A late-night traffic accident involving two cars in Estepona has left one person dead, according to Andalucia’s emergency services.
The collision occurred at kilometre 2 of the A-7175 just before midnight on Sunday, September 14.
Several motorists alerted the 112 emergency line at around 11.47pm, reporting a serious crash with possible casualties.
Emergency teams from the Guardia Civil, Local Police, Andalucian Health Service (SAS) and the Provincial Fire Brigade rushed to the scene.
Firefighters confirmed that the victim had been trapped inside one of the vehicles and had to be freed from the wreckage.
No further details have yet been released about the deceased or whether others were injured.
The Guardia Civil has opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
